About YYTF
Our tackle programs operate under the rules and guidelines established by Yorkville Youth Tackle Football and Cheerleading (YYTF) and the Midwest Youth "Big 12" Football Conference (MYFC). The MYFC league captures the spirit of an in-house league by emphasizing play time and development. The league also gives every child the opportunity for a “travel team” experience. We play a minimum of 8 games during the regular season. At the end of the regular season we have a weekend of playoffs followed by a weekend of championship games.
YYTF currently provides the opportunity for children living in the Yorkville 115 school district to participate in a 8u-11u conference football league and a 7th grade football team. The goal of YYTF is to provide a safe and healthy environment for the youth of our community to learn the skills and enjoy the challenges of football and cheerleading. Our league works to advance our athlete's football and cheer skills while teaching key values like honesty, integrity, and respect. Our athletes, parents, coaches, and league officials work closely together to promote and foster fundamental game skills while leading by example, practicing good sportsmanship, and respecting our competition.
YYTF began participating in the Midwest Youth "Big 12" Football Conference during the 2011 season. This football conference currently includes teams from DeKalb, Kaneland, and Burlington. Conference football teams are made up of single age groups that include: 8U, 9U, 10U, and 11U. These ages are based on the school calendar year. For football, the age your child is as of September 1st of the current football season, is the age group of athletes with which your child will participate. Each conference team will belong to one of three flights of teams: a red flight, a white flight and a black flight. We will attempt to place all siblings will be placed in the same flight. For example, if the red flight plays in DeKalb, all the red flight teams play in DeKalb. This will be the general rule a majority of the time.
Our 7th grade team is divided into a Yorkville Red Team and a Yorkville Black Team. These teams compete in a different league than our MYFC conference league athletes. The 7th grade team game schedule is organized similar to that of theYorkville 8th grade football team.
